China Travel Tips

Hotel

All the hotels we arrange for in China are above 3-Star level.  You will have private facilities in your room such as bathroom, CTV, Safe, etc.  Also the IDD telephone will be available for you. 

Water

Tap water in China is not for drinking.  Drinkable water in the bottle is available everywhere - you can buy in the shop in the hotel or in any supermarket.  It will cost you about 40 cents (Australian currency) per bottle.  It will be good for you to have a bottle of drinkable water with you during the trip so you will be able to drink any time.  Soft drinks are safe for drinking.

Food

The meals, which we arrange, are Chinese meals and there will be some western style breakfast when you have breakfast in hotel.  All the restaurants where you will have meals are licensed restaurants for foreign tourists.  If you have some comments on the meal such as allergies, please tell your guide. 

Health

We suggest you take the medicine which you normally use with you.  Even the Chinese Government doesn't request a vacciine, but we suggest you check with your family doctor about the vaccine.  If you will be carrying prescribed medicine it is wise to carry a letter from doctor to prove that the medicine is indeed prescribed, just in case you are challenged at the customs in China. 

Insurance

Travel insurance is one of the most important things.  You must have insurance before departure.  If you have your travel insurance by yourself, please show us the policy just in case something happens, we will know whom should we get in contact with.
